Healthcare Technology: iPads in Healthcare? How Mobile Devices Change Healthcare

In November, I moderated a panel titled the “Apps, tablets and the open mobile enterprise” at the Open Mobile Summit, a mobile technology conference.  I had the pleasure of interviewing executives from Cisco Systems, ING Direct, Texas Health Resources, VMWare and Yumm Brands.  What struck me was there are many challenges today around deploying business to employee apps but sexy devices are driving employees to ask IT for more mobile apps.

Healthcare Professionals are Asking for New Technology in Healthcare

After the session, I spoke with Chief Medical Information Officer Ferdinand Velasco about how mobile devices are changing technology in healthcare. He discussed how private cloud and mobile can change the patient care and consumer health. Here’s what he had to say in the video:
